Cosmetic surgery used to have a stigma attached to it, but not any more. Everyone from teenagers, to middle age men to elderly women are having various surgeries done. These are the most popular surgeries:
Nearly three million people having Botox makes it the worlds most popular surgery. Botox is done by injection and is used to remove wrinkles, crow's feet around the eyes or banding around the neck.
Laser hair removal comes in at second place with nearly a million and half people opting for this, and why not, as it can be real pain constantly having to hide or remove unwanted hair. The upper lip on women is often a common area to have this.
Next with over a million people having this non surgical procedure is the Chemical Peel. This helps exfoliate your top layer of skin leaving a fresh layer of skin which gives a younger fresher appearance.
Microdermabrasion also has about one million choosing this, like the chemical peel it is also a skin freshening technique, using a very fine sort of sand blaster to abrasively remove the top layer of dead skin. Often more than one treatment is needed to get the full effect
Liposuction is the most popular surgical operation choice (all the ones mentioned so far are non surgical). This involves using special equipment whereby a rod is inserted under the skin and literally sucks fat out of the patient. Commonly people choose to have liposuction their thighs, belly or bums - these are usually the problem areas.
Next is breast augmentation with a third of a million women wanting bigger breasts. This is becoming more and more common as women taking care of their figures and reducing body fat levels means their breast size is smaller.
